The Venezia ’20 design reinterprets one of the most influential modern football identities through clean geometric form.
Few clubs changed football aesthetics the way Venezia did during the early 2020s. At a time when most kits still felt rooted purely in sport, Venezia created something different. Minimalist branding, elevated art direction and shirts that moved effortlessly between football culture and contemporary fashion. Suddenly, people who didn’t even watch football wanted Venezia shirts.
The 2020 era captured the beginning of that transformation.
Black, orange and green, the historic colours of the club and the city itself, were reimagined through sleek styling and cinematic campaign imagery set against the backdrop of Venice. The atmosphere around the club felt less like traditional football marketing and more like an independent fashion label rooted in football culture. Venezia would also earn promotion to Serie A during the 2020–21 season, helping cement the start of the club’s modern cult status.
This piece strips those visual elements back into a minimal composition inspired by Venetian architecture, modern football aesthetics and the rare moment football shirts became genuine design objects.
