Inspired by the shirt worn during the most important season in Napoli’s history, the Napoli ’87 design reinterprets one of football’s most mythologised visual identities through clean geometric form.
This was Naples at full volume; Stadio San Paolo, blue smoke drifting across packed terraces and Diego Maradona carrying an entire city on his shoulders. The 1986–87 season changed Italian football forever, as Napoli won their first ever Serie A title and completed a historic league and cup double.
The shirt itself became immortal.
Sky blue tones, the iconic Buitoni sponsor and the unmistakable simplicity of late 80s Italian kit design combined to create one of the defining football aesthetics of the era. More than just a football shirt, it became a symbol of southern identity, rebellion and football romanticism at its purest.
